Last Tuesday, April 2, during the ordinary session of the Legislative Assembly of Alagoas, deputy Gilvan Barros Filho, representative of the MDB, made a statement that caught the attention of those present and the House Inspection and Control Committee.

Barros raised the issue of complaints made by traders in relation to the actions of the management of the Central de Abastecimento de Alagoas (Ceasa). According to the deputy, traders have been fined with high fines, without a clear reason. He highlighted the importance of the service provided by Ceasa to the State and asked the Commission to investigate the allegations made.

The parliamentarian highlighted that Ceasa is responsible for supplying food from the interior of the State, which is essential for the capital. At a time of economic difficulties in the country, Barros emphasized the seriousness of the fines and restrictions imposed on traders who depend on Ceasa.

Through the Inspection and Control Commission, the deputy requested that the complaints be investigated and that clarification be provided about the practices of Ceasa’s management. He warned his colleagues and society about the importance of protecting service providers and traders, who play a fundamental role for the State.

In light of Gilvan Barros Filho’s appeals, the expectation now is that the Inspection and Control Commission will take measures to investigate the complaints and ensure transparency and justice in Ceasa’s actions in relation to traders. The parliamentarian ended his speech by reinforcing the need to protect those who actively contribute to the food supply in Alagoas.
