‘I’m negotiating’, says governor about Sesi purchase

Metropolitano and BEC (Blumenau Esporte Clube)’s dream of returning to play at Estádio do Sesi may be close. The governor of the State of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello, is in Blumenau this Monday (1st) and this Tuesday (2nd), he paid a visit to the complex.

According to the governor, purchasing Sesi is an old dream for Blumenau, and because of this, the state is already in negotiations with Fiesc (Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina), owner of the complex, involving land in Joinville.

“We are in conversation with President Fiesc, we have another piece of land in Joinville that we are exchanging. So the evaluation of this land here is being carried out carefully and the evaluations there in Joinville so that we can find a price, so that we can continue the negotiations”, explains the governor.

Governor of SC guarantees investments to purchase Sesi

Although this Tuesday there was no transfer or signature involving Sesi, Jorginho Mello guarantees that the state executive power will hand over the complex to the city of Blumenau.

“The government of Santa Catarina is interested in doing this intermediation, this deal with Fiesc at the lowest possible price. I am negotiating, but we have already made the decision to make this investment and transfer it to the city of Blumenau”, adds the Governor.

He also highlights that the state has a firm intention of handing over Sesi to Blumenau, despite the fact that the complex needs many expansion and structuring reforms. “It’s a beautiful complex that needs an owner. And no one better than Blumenau, with the characteristic that public authorities have in firm administration to power, is taking care of this equipment”, he concludes.
