The state deputies of Rio Grande do Norte unanimously approved, this Tuesday (2), the bill that readjusts the salaries of teachers in the state network by 3.62%.
The adjustment should benefit more than 18,800 active professionals, retirees and pensioners. The national salary floor set for the year 2024 was R$4,580.57.
The retroactive payment for the months of January, February and March will still be negotiated between the government and the category. The state still pays the adjustments for the years 2022 and 2023 in installments.
After approval, the project now goes to Governor Fátima Bezerra (PT) for sanction.
On social media, the governor and the Secretary of Education of RN, Socorro Batista, announced that the sanction of the bill will take place this Wednesday (3) and the adjustment will be implemented in the April salary sheet.
According to the Union of Public Education Workers of Rio Grande do Norte (Sinte), teachers whose income was below the minimum value at the beginning of 2024 had the adjustment of 3.62% and the retroactive adjustment implemented in March.
