Preventive actions are scheduled to take place in several neighborhoods in the capital of Alagoas and in strategic municipalities in the interior of the State. In Maceió, for example, the neighborhoods Benedito Bentes, Salvador Lyra, Graciliano Ramos, Santa Lúcia, and others, will be covered with educational activities. Furthermore, municipalities such as Atalaia, Maragogi, Belém, Santana do Ipanema, among others, will also benefit from the initiative.
The Secretary of State for Health, Gustavo Pontes de Miranda, highlighted the importance of itinerant actions to mobilize the population in the fight against the dengue vector. He highlighted that it is essential that people adopt simple preventive measures, such as putting sand in plant pots, keeping water tanks closed, cleaning gutters and avoiding the accumulation of stagnant water. In addition, Sesau will also provide training for employees of the Municipal Health Departments and will monitor the epidemiological situation in all cities in the State.
By distributing flyers and putting up posters at strategic points, Sesau seeks to raise awareness among the population about the importance of dedicating just ten minutes a week to interrupt the life cycle of Aedes aegypti. The initiative follows the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) and aims to prevent the worsening of dengue cases, which can lead to hospitalization and even death.
Therefore, mobilizing the population and raising awareness about preventive measures are essential to combat dengue and guarantee the health and well-being of all Alagoas.
