The Museum of Tomorrow, in Praça Mauá, in the center of Rio, will host today the first Rio edition of “Favela Gala”, an event held by Gerando Falcões, whose objective is to raise funds and donations for social projects carried out by the NGO throughout the country . Scheduled to start at 7pm, the dinner will feature a select list of guests that will bring together businesspeople, artists and influential names in Rio society. Names such as Taís Araújo, as master of ceremonies, and Ingrid Guimarães, who will lead the auction, have already been confirmed.
The musical attraction will be performed by Feyjão with Mosquito and guests. The traditional samba circle was created by promoter Carol Sampaio and actors João Vicente de Castro and Rafael Zulu.
“The Favela Gala is an excellent opportunity for us to present all of Gerando Falcões’ initiatives that impact the lives of thousands of people who live in favelas. Furthermore, we aim to raise more donations for our initiatives that will transform favela poverty into a museum piece. Our expectation is to bring together a large number of people in the wonderful city to combat poverty”, highlighted Edu Lyra, Founder and CEO of the NGO Gerando Falcões, to the column by journalist Ancelmo Gois, from GLOBO.
The operator TIM has already announced that it will announce, during the event, the investment of R$3.5 million in Gerando Falcões programs throughout 2024 and 2025. Last year, the operator reversed an amount of revenue generated by post- paid for the institution’s projects. For this year, the novelty will be technological support for the ASMARA program, which offers support to women from favelas to sell products in the neighborhood, allowing participants to keep part of the profit, in an approach inspired by the direct sales models of large companies .
