The initiative plays an important role in strengthening security measures in the school environment, working to prevent drug use and combat violence among children and young people throughout the state.
The State Government, through the Military Police of Minas Gerais (PMMG) and the State Department of Education (SEE/MG), began last Wednesday, March 28, the beginning of the 2024 activities of the State Program of Drug Resistance (Proerd).
The inspection took place at the Padre Eustáquio State School, in Belo Horizonte, where the military instructors of the program carried out a dynamic with the students.
The Deputy Secretary of State for Education, Geniana Guimarães Faria, and Captain Lilian Aparecida Fernandes Dias, methodological coordinator of Proerd, highlighted that the partnership contributes to schools being places not only for learning, but for developing citizenship in a safe environment is nice.
Proerd serves public school students in the state enrolled in the final years of elementary and high school. In 2023, around 46 thousand students from state schools were served by the program.
Proerd lessons teach students to work on self-knowledge, self-control, emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationships, relevant aspects that help the State Department of Education to understand the students’ profile in a more individualized way.
