Five search and seizure warrants were executed this Tuesday morning (30) in Palmas, during a Federal Police operation against a group suspected of trafficking drugs by sending and receiving parcels via post. At first there are no prisons.

The operation was called Prohibited Order. The warrants were issued by the 4th Criminal Court of Palmas.

According to the Federal Police, the main objective of the action is to deepen investigations that began in 2023, regarding the involvement of those investigated in drug trafficking carried out in Palmas and other municipalities in Tocantins.

Investigations are carried out through cooperation with the Brazilian Post and Telegraph Company (Correios), with the aim of identifying postal parcels containing illicit substances.

According to the PF, those under investigation must be held accountable for drug trafficking and could face up to 15 years in prison. The name of the Operation refers to the way in which the suspects sent and received drugs through the postal services of Correios.
