Black Biennial

The third edition of the event features exhibitions with more than 270 works by 225 artists from across the country and abroad, divided into six spaces in the city and online attractions. The exhibition, which arrives in the city for the first time, was created with the aim of giving visibility to black artists, especially women, in galleries and museums. The central theme of this edition is Fluxes (In)Flow: Transience, Migration and Memory, offering artists a reflection on migration, systemic gender inequalities, transcultural narratives and identities in fluxes.

Clint Eastwood: the Actor, the Director, the Genius

With the announcement that Juror #2, scheduled for July, will be Clint Eastwood’s last film, the curator of Mario Abbade created a grand retrospective of the actor and filmmaker, with seventy films that featured the performance or direction of this great name in the seventh art. This Friday (29), the films shown are A Perfect Worldat 2pm; Joe Kiddat 3pm; For a Few Dollars Moreat 4:35 pm; My Name is Cooganat 7:05 pm; The Eagles’ Challenge, at 8:50 pm; It is The Madison Bridgesat 9pm.

Dine & Dance

The charming Alba gastrobar hosts weekly parties in its century-old mansion. On Fridays, the dance floor soundtrack is eclectic, covering different musical styles. In the restaurant, which operates in a covered outdoor area, drinks created by mixologist Tai Barbin and Italian-inspired food designed by chef Meuguru Baba.

Dadi and Vinicius Cantuária

At the show Trails, the artists give an overview of their stories and successes, going through different phases of their careers, such as when Dadi was part of the group Novos Baianos and Cantuária was part of Caetano Veloso’s band. Taking turns between acoustic guitars and guitars, they are accompanied by Di Séffano (drums) and Rafael Martins (piano and keyboards).

Duets — The Comedy

A success with the public, the production of the show by Englishman Peter Quilter says goodbye this weekend. Patricya Travassos and Eduardo Moscovis play the roles of four stories involving a man and a woman (not necessarily couples), in a reflection on contemporary relationships. Among the plots, that of Shirley and Beto, who decide to go on vacation in Spain to finalize their divorce and discover that they are not the well-settled ex-couple they thought they were.

It’s Nóix Family

With text, direction and interpretation by Leandro Hassum, the solo show brings together fun stories from the comedian’s family, which could be from any other. Everyday situations, traveling together, special dates such as Christmas and birthdays, and even quarantine and isolation in times of pandemic are ammunition for the artist’s jokes, in a performance with improvisations and interaction with the public. The night is opened by comedian Matheus MAD.

Jorge Forever Summer

Trained in theater, Afro dance and classical ballet, having danced with precursor Mercedes Batista, Jorge Lafond (1952-2003) was a name with great LGBTQIAP+ and black representation, and, despite the homophobia and racism suffered throughout his life , conquered Brazil with its most striking character, Vera Verão. Combining real stories and fiction, the show talks about Jorge Lafond, Vera Verão and a cousin of the artist. The play has dramaturgy by Aline Mohamad (Lafond’s cousin) and Diego Mesquita, and directed by Rodrigo França.

Samba Que Elas Querem and Marcelle Brito

Meeting point for samba lovers in the city, the house hosts the prestigious circle of female instrumentalists, born from a desire to give protagonism to the female gender in the Rio samba scene. The group’s repertoire covers different aspects of rhythm, with songs composed and/or immortalized by women, including Clementina de Jesus, Tia Surica, Ivone Lara and Beth Carvalho. The opening is by samba singer Marcelle Brito.

In an intimate format, the show features the singer accompanied only by her guitar, on a tour of several songs from her first album, Sweet Jardimas well as other albums and hits from his career, such as At night, Amulet It is Messed with me. Tiê also presents the versions of Pilgrimageby Renato Teixeira, and Lost timefrom Legião Urbana.
