A traffic accident, on the morning of Wednesday, the 27th, involving a public passenger transport bus, on the BR-101, in Gameleira, in the interior of Pernambuco, left one person dead and another six people injured.

According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the accident occurred around 8:30 am, near the location known as Engenho Paca. According to the PRF, the bus was heading to Maceió.

The driver of the bus reportedly lost control of the steering wheel on a curve and collided with the highway wall, then the bus rolled over onto a cliff.

The fatal victim, a woman with an unknown identity, was taken alive to the Palmares Regional Hospital (HRP), but did not survive her injuries and died shortly after arriving at the health unit.

The Military Fire Department (CBM-PE) was called to the scene of the accident and provided care to a victim with a suspected closed fracture in the right arm. The victim was taken to HRP. The other injured received help through the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).

The PRF reported that the bus driver carried out the breathalyzer testwith a negative result for drunkenness.
