Ivete Sangalo explains her husband’s supposed ‘jealous crisis’ that went viral: “It was very difficult”; watch

Ivete Sangalo participated in Podpah, this Friday (26), and opened up about issues both in her personal life and career. The singer was even asked about an episode that happened during New Year’s Eve 2016, involving her husband, nutritionist Daniel Cady. At the time, it was pointed out that she had become jealous when she saw her lover talking to another woman.

The star was performing when he saw the scene from the stage, at a private party held in Guarajuba, in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador. “Who is this, daddy?”, she asked, at the time. The video of the moment circulated on social media and the situation was widely commented on, with the phrase even becoming a meme.

For presenters Igão and Mítica, Ivete revealed that what happened was not easy for her. “This is still a very recurring topic, at the time it was f*ck, today I can say, it was something like that… very difficult for me, because when you do something in which only you are involved, everything is fine. But when you involve someone else it’s difficult,” stated the artist.

“It was the first time I saw Daniel exposed like this, on national television, for something I had done. I received a big stick, which was supposed to be funny, it wasn’t. It was a joke. He sleeps in my dressing room, in the trio. Daniel is a guy who socially has a drum kit. I am not! Mine is always full. He says, ‘Let’s go to a wedding.’ He prepares, I don’t. Mine is full. I’m going to a wedding, birthday. He no”he explained.

The singer then recalled exactly what happened that night: “He was at New Year’s Eve with me, I had already celebrated New Year’s Eve in Salvador, and he was in a box in front of me, my family, lying down like a statue in the museum. Then I played this game and I was crazy, man, because the other day (…) when I saw that the game was, like, fun, everyone had fun“.

“It was a meme, but for a creature like him it hit me, because I felt responsible for throwing out the naughty tomboy that I am”, she pointed out. Still during the conversation, Ivete revealed how he left Banda Eva, in 1999, and what the reaction of the group’s musicians was when they were informed about his decision to pursue a solo career.
