With the aim of further internationalizing the technology and innovation sector in Santa Catarina, the Santa Catarina Technology Association (Acate) receives a delegation of 12 leaders from Canada next week. The invitation was from Acate, which also works to attract foreign investment to the State.

The event is held in partnership with the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce. According to Acate’s vice-president of Internationalization, Henrique Bilbao, the entity’s objective is to expand connections between SC and Canada and also be a bridge between Canadians and other countries in Latin America.
The delegation will be made up of representatives from universities, entrepreneurs and professionals who work at the Canadian Research Support Fund. The group will be in SC from March 31st to April 7th.
The visit itinerary proposed by Acate includes in Florianópolis a visit to the Miditec incubator, the Federation of Industries of SC (Fiesc), Esag Udesc (University of the State of Santa Catarina) and FIN – International Business Fair. In Blumenau, they will visit Blusoft, and in Itajaí, the new regional Innovation Center based in the municipality.

– We want to show the size of our technology ecosystem and present the country’s strength in this area. Many countries see Brazil as a risky investment, but by showing our reality, with 1700 companies associated with Acate representing 70% of the State’s technology revenue, we hope they realize Santa Catarina’s potential – highlights Henrique Bilbao.
