The wave of Brazilian victories continues in Madrid. Luisa Stefani, number 10 in the world, made a devastating debut at the WTA 1000 doubles tournament in Madrid, Spain, this Saturday (27). With this victory, Stefani and the Dutch Demi Schuurs have already secured themselves in the round of 16.

The Brazilian pair, who are seeded 3rd, defeated Poland’s Magda Linette and China’s Shuai Zhang by 2 sets to 0, with scores of 6/1 and 6/2, in just 53 minutes. But they spent more than three hours involved with the match. It rained heavily in the Spanish capital, and the game had to be stopped when Luisa and Demi were leading 5-1 in the first set.
In the round of 16, they will face Chinese teams Saisai Zheng and Xinyu Wang. The WTA 1000 in Madrid has a total prize pool of 8.7 million euros (R$47 million).
