Governor Eduardo Leite was in Mostardas, in the South Region, late this Thursday morning (28/3), to check State investments in health and paving actions. Combined, the investments exceeded R$1.6 million in transfers from the state Treasury. “I always emphasize that we are a municipal government, committed to helping city halls improve services that directly impact the lives of citizens. We are no longer a government that only received the mayor to hear arrears, to being a government that is together of municipalities making investments”, said Leite.

Welcomed by Mayor Moisés Pedone, the governor visited the Basic Health Unit (UBS) of the Family Health Strategy (ESF) Dr. Valmor de Souza Machado Community Center. The unit is undergoing renovation and expansion, with investments from the Avançar Program. In total, the State is investing R$ 154,000 in UBS, of which R$ 84,561.48 is from the Department of Health (SES) for works at Rede Bem Cuidar (RBC) stations and R$ 70,000 for improvements in units that serve up to 500 people per month through the Farmácia Cuidar+ program.

By joining RBC, the unit had already received R$60,000 for implementation and R$50,000 for the purchase of dental equipment. Each month, the station also earns R$8,000 for funding. The unit also won the silver UBS Age-Friendly seal in the first half of last year. The seal is a certification granted by SES to posts that have joined the RBC and that implement actions proposed by the program, achieving some indicators to promote the health of the elderly.

In addition to the amounts transferred to UBS, the government allocated resources from Avançar for the acquisition of an ultrasound scanner by Hospital São Luiz de Mostardas, worth R$ 130.2 thousand. The purchase is in the bidding process. The institution will also receive another R$241,000 from Avançar to replace the flooring. The work is in the design phase.

In total, R$ 1.1 million will be invested in the works , which are in the bidding process. The paving serves travel routes to the UBS and the Vó Tota Early Childhood Education School, improving urban mobility.
