Federal Highway Police begins Operation Yellow May on Tuesday (30), in Alagoas – Photo: Assessoria
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) begins at 10 am next Tuesday (30), “Operation May Yellow”, which will run throughout the month. The launch of the movement will feature the PRF Highway Cinema, where a brief lecture will be given to drivers.
This year’s operation has as its central theme “Peace in traffic begins with you”, with the main objective of reducing violence in traffic and the social costs arising from it, through various actions in areas where there is a higher incidence of accidents.
To reduce this rate, in addition to educational actions, traffic inspection actions will be carried out, aimed at risky behavior, especially those related to vehicle driving, such as speeding, undue overtaking, drunk driving, lack of use of seat belts and helmets, irregular transport of children and use of cell phones while driving.
Throughout the period, the PRF will carry out traffic education activities, focused on raising collective awareness about the vulnerability and responsibility of everyone involved in traffic; as well as, alerting drivers to the necessary care and attention towards the most vulnerable in traffic: pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.
Through these actions, the PRF seeks, together with society, to foster an increasingly safer environment on federal highways.
