With the arrival of the Holy Week long holiday, the number of people taking to the road increases and, as a result, the risk of accidents on the highways also increases. To ensure a worry-free trip, the Tocantins State Traffic Department (Detran /TO) will perform theOperation Holy Weekwith inspections on several state highways between March 28th and 31st.
The Inspection and Security Manager, Enildo Leite, draws attention to the importance of inspection actions during this period. “Detran/TO teams will be present in several cities in Tocantins and our focus is to ensure safety on state highways and, thus, reduce accident rates and, consequently, deaths on the roads during the long holiday,” he states.

The operation will be carried out in the municipalities of Paraíso do Tocantins, Gurupi, Peixe, Araguaína, Couto Magalhães, Palmas, among others.

To ensure that drivers continue their journey safely, Detran/TO advises drivers to pay attention to mandatory equipment and the condition of the vehicle: check brakes, general conditions of the lighting system, tires, windshield wipers and seat belts. safety before hitting the road.
The agency also reminds that it is important to pay attention to the necessary documentation and that it is up to date, such as the National Driving License (CNH) and the car document, the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV). digital – electronic versions can be issued using the Digital Traffic Card (CDT) application.
During the trip, the Department emphasizes that drivers must pay extra attention and respect highway speed limits and overtaking conditions.
On stretches that are under construction, the agency recommends that drivers reduce speed and obey local signage. Attention should also be paid at intersections and urban areas.
