For PC MA, vacancies will be allocated to careers in delegate, clerk and investigator.
In the case of the state Fire Department, the expectation is that the opportunities will be allocated to squares (known as combat firefighters), as the last selection for the career was carried out more than ten years ago.
For the area of criminal expertise, there are still no further details about the possible specialties that should be covered. However, according to a source consulted at the beginning of March by Folha Directed by Qconcursos, the area of medical/dental expertise should not be included in the competition.
At the moment, the starting salary for those approved in the PC MA competition will be:
- investigator and scribe: R$4,353.78
- delegate: R$20,474.25
The initial remuneration of those approved for the position of soldier in the MA Firefighter competition will be: R$4,877.32.
The career of a criminal expert in Maranhão is R$10,557.95.

Public Ministry demands new PC MA competition
A public hearing will be held on April 8 for the conciliation and judgment of the Public Civil Action (ACP), filed by the MP MA in July 2023, whose objective is to force the state to hold a new PC MA competition.
As highlighted by the MP himself, the 3rd Public Prosecutor’s Office for the External Control of Police Activity in the Capital, author of the ACP, seeks to obtain a decision from the state Judiciary to guarantee a new selection and provide the staff.
Holding a new competition is seen as an indispensable measure by prosecutor Márcia Haydée, who signed the decision to file the ACP.
According to the Public Ministry of Maranhão, the lack of filling of positions in recent years resulted in a total of 657 vacant positions within the Civil Police.
At the moment, PC MA registers 158 vacant positions for delegates, 438 for investigators and 61 for clerks.
The last PC MA competition was held in 2017. Under the organization of Cebraspe, the selection offered 415 opportunities.
