O Labor Electronic Home (DET), an essential tool provided by the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), has significantly facilitated communication between the government and companies. With mandatory implementation scheduled for May 1st, many employers still have doubts about how the system will impact their business routines.

The system allows all necessary communications and documents to be sent electronically, ensuring greater agility and security. This new method avoids the accumulation of paperwork and optimizes the time of business owners, who can carry out consultations and send information directly from their offices or homes.

What are the main services offered by DET?

Among the services available, we highlight the editing of registration data and an electronic mailbox where all communications from the Labor Inspectorate are received. Furthermore, the system allows documents to be sent and notifications relevant to business obligations to be viewed.

  • Registration data: Allows you to update contact information for individuals and legal entities.
  • Mailbox: Centralizes messages between the employer and the Labor Inspectorate.
  • Notifications: It facilitates the sending of requested documents and the monitoring of processes.

Access to the system is via the government portal with silver or gold authentication. It is essential that companies register by the deadline to avoid fines, which can vary from R$208.09 to R$2,080.91, as regulated by Decree 10,854/2021, with recent updates.

DET versus DTE: Understanding the differences

While the DET is focused on intermediation with the Labor Inspection Secretariat, the Simples Nacional and MEI Electronic Tax Domicile (DTE) is used to manage tax communications. Both are vital tools, but they serve different and complementary purposes in the Brazilian business scenario.

Automatic inclusion in DTE

For those opting for Simples Nacional, inclusion in the DTE is automatic, and access can be done through the Simples Nacional portal, eCAC or via gov.br, further simplifying the entrepreneur’s life.

With the mandatory Electronic Labor Domicile arriving, it is essential that all companies are prepared for this transition, ensuring compliance and taking advantage of the benefits that the system offers for the modernization and security of business communications.
