On March 21, 2024, during a plenary session at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Pernambuco (Alepe), Bolsonaro state deputy Coronel Alberto Feitosa (PL) stated that the disease kills more than 25 thousand Brazilians per day. The excerpt with the speech was shared on its official social networks.

The statement is false. According to data from the Ministry of Health, Brazil recorded 831 deaths and more than 2.3 million cases of dengue fever until last Tuesday (26). There are still 1,267 deaths under investigation.
