It is a fact that people from Roraima, most of the time, choose to travel by air leaving from Manaus, in Amazonas, than from Boa Vista. The practice is seen as a way of saving on ticket prices, but is it worth it?
Without mystery, the president of the Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies (ABAV) in Roraima, Lena Matos, explained that leaving the capital of Roraima by bus to Amazonas and then continuing the plane journey has proven to be unfeasible and is no longer so common. like this.

“If you add the cost of the bus ticket, taxi to get to the airport, added to the plane ticket, it ends up being almost the same as leaving Roraima. Not to mention that it takes 12 hours to get to Manaus”, explained Lena.
For a basic illustration, FolhaBV carried out a survey of trips to four frequent destinations, leaving by plane directly from Boa Vista and Manaus, and in the latter with a bus ticket. The research was carried out only with one-way tickets in the last few days of March.

Revenue for the state
The president of ABAV also explained that, even though the strategy does not always pay off, Roraima has agencies that work certified with platforms, “with good fare options that can be offered to customers, which is not even worth facing 12 hours of travel for a difference small”. Furthermore, leaving Roraima has future benefits for the state and the population.
“It is a very important and positive point when leaving Roraima because of the revenue flown. Even if a person buys a ticket in Roraima and gets on the plane in Manaus, the revenue stays there, and leaving Roraima, the revenue will stay here. This shows companies the flow and strengthens the frequency of flights to Roraima, so they don’t change flights or cancel”
