Starting next month, travel costs to other municipalities in Mato Grosso do Sul will increase, as announced by the state’s Intermunicipal Road Passenger Transport System.

The 4.51% adjustment will come into force on April 1, according to the Ordinance published in the Official State Gazette this Wednesday, March 27, 2024. The calculation of bus fares is based on the fare coefficient, which considers several factors , including the distance traveled and the type of vehicle used. The increase will affect this coefficient, directly affecting ticket prices.

According to the publication, the minimum fare for structural, regional and regional lines with urban characteristics will be set at R$11.50, while the single fare will be R$5.90. The Ordinance also provides for the possibility of increases in tariff values for intercity calls that offer different service standards at specific times.

These increases can reach up to 20% for executive-type buses and up to 50% for sleeper-type buses, upon express authorization from the State Agency for the Regulation of Public Services of Mato Grosso do Sul (Agems). The Ordinance was signed by the CEO of Agems, Carlos Alberto de Assis.

This increase will directly impact passengers who depend on intercity transport, reflected in travel costs from next month onwards.
