A Hyundai has just presented a facelift of the fourth generation of the Tucson at the New York Auto Show, in the United States. The SUV arrives in the 2025 line with small visual changes, new safety technologies and slight changes to the engine. Prices have not yet been revealed, but sales start in June.

The main changes appear inside. The 2025 Tucson line had the central console redesigned and now offers more physical buttons with the intention of improving ergonomics. Steering wheel and door panels are also new. In addition, the induction cell phone charger base has been repositioned and is now next to the driver. The more expensive versions of the SUV still feature a new gear selector.

Furthermore, the instrument panel, now 12.3 inches digital, is integrated into the multimedia center, which has the same size. The touch screen also features the brand’s latest software. In this way, Hyundai promises faster processing and sharper graphics. Finally, there’s wireless setup for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay across all configurations.

Regarding safety items, Hyundai adds Forward Attention Warning (FAW), a system that uses an infrared camera to help track the driver’s gaze. The aim is to monitor attention levels to ensure safe driving. If the driver does not respond to a command, the SUV can even activate emergency lights and stop.

The engines remain the same. The entry versions bring 2.5 four-cylinder engine with direct injection that delivers 187 hp and 24.5 kgfm. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic.

The other variants are hybrids and plug-in hybrids. Both are equipped with a 1.6 turbo engine. In the first case, it is combined with a 47.7 kW electric motor. In the previous line, it was 44.2 kW. Thus, the power is 231 hp. The plug-in configuration (which can be recharged at the socket) features a more powerful electric motor, which increased from 66.9 kW to 72 kW. In this case, there are 268 total hp. The transmission is always a six-speed automatic.

And Brazil?

The good news for those who like the SUV is that there are good chances of the new Hyundai Tucson being sold in Brazil in 2025. Initially, the model should arrive imported. After, the most likely is that the manufacturer will start producing the model in Anápolis (GO). According to Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade Filho, president of Caoa, the Tucson “is a product with a lot of name and prestige, and which we don’t want to stop exploring”.
