Honda has launched its long-awaited launches for 2024/2025. Apart from the CBR400R, which had changes announced for the foreign market at the beginning of the year, now the Japanese company has brought significant changes to a small one that the Brazilian public actually consumes, the famous Pop 110i.
The 2025 version of the Pop 110i even changed its name, becoming the Honda Pop 110i ES, all motivated by its most requested update, the electric start, which now incorporates the motorcycle. In addition to this, the model changed a lot in its gearbox system, engine and a few other parts.

Electric start and semi-automatic transmission
The new Pop 110i ES (Electric Starter – electric starter in Portuguese) now also has a semi-automatic gearbox that does not require a clutch lever In other words, the rider just needs to step to pass or slow down and the bike will obey without the need to activate the handle lever – which no longer exists in this update. This is the same system already used in Biz.
With four speeds and a dense rotary type, this gearbox allows the driver to shift, for example, from 4th gear to neutral and continue shifting to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, N, 1st, 2nd… and so on sequentially. This makes it easier in some situations and also ensures that the driver does not let the motorcycle die by accident, as these gearboxes ensure that the motorcycle remains running – even when stopped – regardless of the gear engaged. One detail is that the motorcycle will not start if it is not in neutral, thus avoiding possible accidents.
In this new gearbox there will also be two clutches, but as stated by Honda during the exclusive, without weight for the consumer, as only the one that directly assists in the changes will suffer traditional wear. The automatic centrifugal type is mainly responsible for assisting the first clutch and has minimal wear.
New engine for the Pop 110i ES
- The Pop 110 goes from having a top speed of 90 km/h to 93 km/h.
In addition to serving the public with the electric starter and bringing the advantages of the semi-automatic transmission, Honda also had to meet the Promot (Air pollution control program from motorcycles and similar vehicles) and standards emission.
Now after a good tweak to the engine, the Pop 110i ES is polluting less. In a simplified way, the changes made the propellant hotter inside so that more polluting gases were burned and thus a smaller amount was emitted into the atmosphere.
For this result they also had piston modificationswhich now has a longer stroke and smaller diameter left the Honda Pop 6% more powerful and 5% stronger, equivalent to 8.43 hp and 0.94 kgfm.
Modification to the dimensions of the Honda Pop 110i ES
The novelty of the electric starter changed more than Honda expected. To fit it in with the changes required by law, readjusting the components was essential, making the bike narrower and moving the engine a little further from the ground. Positive points that were offset by the lower bench. All of this hasn’t changed practically anything on the bike, since we’re talking just a few millimeters, but it shows that the bike has changed a lot. The wheelbase also grew, but the weight remained as before.
- Length x width x height: 1,832 x 727 x 1,031 mm;
- Wheelbase: 1,238 mm;
- Minimum ground clearance: 137 mm;
- Seat height: 745 mm;
- Dry weight: 87 kg.
Too many changes
Other changes that can also be noticed in this Pop 2025 are aesthetic ones. In addition to the lack of clutch lever indicating the new model, the graphics on the fairings also identify the new motorcycle. The colors of the suspension cane and exhaust protector, both in black, also show some details that Honda bothered to change.
- The Pop 110 tires also changed to other ones, now Michelin.
What remained
But the Honda Pop 110i with electric start also had items that remained. In addition to the base chassis, you can highlight the 110 mm diameter drum brakes on both wheels, and the simple 100 mm shock absorbers at the front and 83 mm at the back.
