The State Government, through the Department of Health (Sesa), authorized this Wednesday (27) a transfer of R$7 million for the construction of the maternity ward in the municipality of Reserva, in Campos Gerais. The objective of the unit is to strengthen and expand care for women in the region, offering a humanized service during the pregnancy and childbirth process.
The meeting in which the allocation of the resource was confirmed, held at Palácio Iguaçu, in Curitiba, was attended by vice-governor Darci Piana and the state secretary of Health, Beto Preto.
“Paraná takes a big leap forward in terms of health decentralization, which is nothing more than bringing these services closer to citizens, preventing them from having to travel long distances to receive care. This work is another example of this great project”, said Piana.
With an area of approximately 900 square meters, the maternity ward will be built attached to the Emergency Reserve Service and will benefit not only women residing in the municipality, but also in neighboring locations. They will have access to specialized care close to their communities. The unit will have capacity for up to 20 births per month and will have an Obstetric Surgical Center, milk bank, nursing station and seven beds.
“There are more than 1,200 works in health alone and today we also include the Reserva maternity hospital. A great gift to the municipality, which turned 103 years old this week”, highlighted Beto Preto.
Mayor Lucas Machado emphasized the benefit of the new maternity ward for families in the city. “This work will make a difference in the lives of many people and will give a new perspective on maternal and child care in Reserva,” he said.
