Deputy Cabo Bebeto (PL) harshly criticized the adjustment in fees charged by Detran during the ordinary session this Wednesday, 27th. According to the parliamentarian, he has received several complaints from society in relation to these increases, which were implemented after the approval of project 662/2023, which became law 9,126/2023.

In his speech, Cabo Bebeto highlighted that he voted against the aforementioned project last year, as he already predicted that the state government, aiming to fulfill a campaign promise to create CNH Social to benefit low-income citizens, would end up promoting tax increases. The deputy emphasized that, although the creation of CNH Social is commendable, the impact of adjustments in Detran taxes is much greater and harms the majority of the population.

“The government benefits a portion of society with the CNH Social, but harms everyone else with increased rates. This is unacceptable,” said the deputy. He also expressed his solidarity with the people of Alagoas affected by the readjustments and highlighted that, whether they like it or not, politics has a direct impact on people’s lives, whether positively or negatively.

Given this, Cabo Bebeto appealed to the population to be attentive and aware of the impacts of political decisions, such as law 9.126/2023, which, according to him, negatively affects society as a whole. The deputy’s criticisms summarize the dissatisfaction and concern of many citizens with the constant readjustments of fees and taxes, which directly impact the population’s pockets and quality of life.
