Meeting between the State and the Inter-American Development Bank signals progress for the Acre More Productive Program

The government of Acre, through the State Planning Secretariat (Seplan), met this Wednesday, 27th, with a technical team from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), via video conference, to discuss the necessary procedures for the start of the Acre More Productive Program (Proamp). Experts from the IDB and Seplan’s Regional Development and Resource Monitoring Directorates participated in the meeting.

Proamp is a R$220 million credit operation, approved by the IDB at the end of 2023, with the objective of increasing income and reducing rural poverty for 40 thousand families, including rural producers, agroextractivists, riverside dwellers and indigenous people, through through the sustainable development of forestry, agroforestry and agricultural production, with reduction of deforestation and adaptation to climate change.

The next step is to carry out an Identification Mission with a technical visit from the IDB coordination and the participation of the Proamp executing secretariats, expected to take place between April 22nd and 26th. The objective is to align actions, collect information, carry out field visits, in addition to discussing and agreeing on roles and actions necessary for structuring the program.

According to Seplan’s Director of Regional Development, Marky Brito, “the flow of activities was presented, such as the agenda of technical meetings and the preparation of documents conditioning the success of the approval of the final structure of the program with the IDB and the federal government”, explained.
