76 years ago, the Rio Grande do Sul State department of the Brazilian Institute of Architects was founded. A pioneer in defending training and professional improvement, IAB-RS took a stand for causes relevant to the development of architecture and urbanism in Rio Grande do Sul.
In addition to positioning itself in defense of urban development and urbanism in the State, it is important to highlight its participation in the fight for the creation of the Faculty of Architecture at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). To celebrate the date, the entity organized several activities open to the public.
The program began yesterday, with a lecture in honor of Enilda Ribeiro, the first female president of the IAB-RS.
This Wednesday, March 27th, a debate will be held on urban issues with experts and journalists.
And on Thursday, March 28, the documentary “Vozes da Arquitetura Porto Alegrense” will be released, produced by IAB-RS with institutional support from CAU/RS, and written and directed by João Felipe Wallig and Lucas Löff Ferreira Leite. Soon after, everyone will be invited to celebrate with a cocktail and samba at the IAB Bar.
