Aneel releases resources to avoid blackouts in Amazonas and 3 other states

Manaus/AM – With the aim of avoiding blackouts in Amazonas, Acre, Rondônia and Roraima, the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) authorized, on Tuesday (26), the direct transfer of resources from the Fuel Consumption Account (CCC) to diesel oil suppliers from the company Brasil Biofuels (BBF).

BBF is responsible for 23 plants in “isolated systems” that are not connected to the national energy system and depend on local generation. The company is in financial difficulties and cannot pay its diesel oil suppliers, which puts its energy supply at risk.

CCC resources will be passed directly to suppliers. The measure is temporary and the agency will still analyze the causes of the BBF situation and take the appropriate measures.

In Amazonas, the locations that may be affected by blackouts are: Comunidade Belém do Solimões and Palmeiras do Javari, both in the municipality of Tabatinga; Feijoal Community, in Benjamin Constant; Estirão do Ecuador Community, in Atalaia do Norte; Envira; and Ipixuna.

Portal do Holanda was founded on November 14, 2005. First with a column, named after its founder, journalist Raimundo de Holanda. Then it moved to Blog do Holanda and finally Portal do Holanda. It was one of the first websites in the State of Amazonas. It is audited by IVC and ComScore.
