The State Department of Traffic of Amazonas (Detran-AM) informs that the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran) has made a website available, on which drivers can consult data relating to the toxicological test. This week, a federal agency ordered that all drivers with an expired drug test be notified.
The purpose of the website is to assist drivers in the “AC”, “AD”, “AE”, “C”, “D” and “E” categories, under the age of 70, who are obliged, in accordance with the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), to carry out the toxicological examination upon issuance and each renewal of the National Driving License (CNH).
The laboratory test seeks to assess the consumption of psychoactive substances that have been proven to compromise driving ability and must have a minimum detection window of 90 days, within the standards established by the National Traffic Council (Contran).
The interested driver can access this information via the link portalservicos.senatran.serpro.gov.br/#/condutor/consultar-toxicológico and enter the CPF number, date of birth and the expiration date of the driver’s license.
This way, the driver will know if he is required to take the test, if he has any pending issues, or even when the current test will be due. The query can also be made through the digital CNH application.
Term
According to Contran deliberation no. 272/24, drivers in categories “AC”, “AD”, “AE”, “C”, “D” and “E” whose National Driving Licenses (CNHs) have expired between July and December 2023, they have until April 30th to carry out the toxicological test.
Detran Amazonas reinforces that the driver who is caught with his drug test in arrears will be fined R$ 1,467.35, in addition to the loss of seven points on his license.
Still in accordance with article no. 165-B, of the CTB, driving a vehicle for which a license is required in categories “AC”, “AD”, “AE”, “C”, “D” and “E” without carrying out a toxicological examination after 30 days of the established deadline is considered a very serious infraction, with suspension of the right to drive for three months.
