Videos recorded by security cameras at a mattress store in Paraíso do Tocantins, in the central region of the state, show the moment an elderly woman steals R$1,000 and hides it in her bra. According to a report made to the Civil Police, the company owner only realized that money was missing when she went to check the cash register. The suspect has not yet been found.
The crime happened this Monday (25), around 9 am. In a statement to the police, the owner said that the elderly woman arrived at the store asking the saleswoman to use the bathroom. In the images it is possible to see that the suspect was accompanied by a child.
The elderly woman speaks to the saleswoman, who directs her to the back of the store, but on the way he ends up entering the company’s office. The suspect observes the space until she sees the money on the table, takes the amount and hides it in her bra. Then she leaves, without buying anything.
The company owner said she arrived around 1pm to check the profits recorded over the weekend. At a certain point she realized that the amount did not match the financial notes made on Saturday (23). Finding it suspicious, she checked the security cameras and saw the elderly woman taking the money.
