Former Atlético football director, Rodrigo Caetano received a gift from Victor Bagy before Galo’s game against Cuiabá, this Saturday (27/4), at Arena Pantanal, for the Brazilian Championship. The current leader of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) was honored by the Minas Gerais club for having participated in winning the 2024 Minas Gerais Championship.
Present at the stadium to observe the match, Caetano received the competition medal from the hands of his substitute. He was not present at the title party because he had already left the club.
“A fair and deserved tribute, because Rodrigo was part of this victorious campaign in the 2024 Minas Gerais Championship, so we made a point of bringing the Minas Gerais champion medal. Feel prestigious. It is a pride to have you as part of our history and as part of this achievement, yet another”, said Victor.
Caetano, in turn, was honored with the gift and took the opportunity to thank other managers and Atlético fans.
“Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you for this honor, this recognition. I confess that I feel very happy and excited, but not so surprised meeting the people who run Galo, today represented by Victor. In addition to being a great professional, he is a long-time personal friend”, he began.
“I would like to extend my thanks to President Sérgio Coelho, our vice Márcio André, the 4 Rs and especially to the fans. Wherever I go there is always a manifestation of affection and gratitude. Today I am in a new role, obviously we are representing the CBF, aiming for the Copa América, but I feel extremely proud of this honor. Thankful and moved,” he added.

Rodrigo Caetano left Atlético on February 16 to take on the role of general coordinator of the Men’s National Teams. The executive stayed at Galo for three years.
The club won six titles: the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Minas Gerais Championships; the Copa do Brasil and the Campeonato Brasileiro, in 2021; and the Brazilian Super Cup, in 2022.
