In the early hours of this Tuesday (26), a serious fire hit two buildings on Rua Cabo Pedro, in the Porto Novo neighborhood, in the municipality of Itapiranga (SC). The Fire Department was called at around 00:30 to combat the flames that simultaneously consumed a wooden building and a masonry building, located parallel to each other.
At the scene, the garrisons carried out an assessment of the scene, and the electricity to the buildings was turned off. To fight the fire, approximately 22 thousand liters of water were used between fighting the fire and the aftermath work.
During the incident, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) provided assistance to a woman who inhaled smoke and suffered first-degree burns to one of her upper limbs. The Military Police and CELESC (Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina) were also present at the incident, providing necessary support.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
