Alagoas will be the destination chosen by many people who want to rest and enjoy the sun, sea, good cuisine and a unique experience during the Holy Week holiday. According to the Brazilian Association of the Hotel Industry of Alagoas (ABIH/AL), hotel occupancy for this holiday is 80.20%, above last year’s average, which was 75% occupancy.

According to the president of ABIH/AL, Gabriel Cedrim, the numbers reflect the work of the private and public sector in promoting the destination. “It’s great to see people from the country and foreigners choose our State to enjoy a holiday like this. The hotel chain is ready to welcome them, with all the differentiated infrastructure and doing what we know best, which is welcoming.”

One of the differences this year is a charter flight coming directly from Uruguay, the result of a collaboration made by the Alagoas Tourism Secretariat and the operators HiperViajes and Abtour, which brought more than 170 passengers directly from Montevideo to spend Holy Week in the State .

Gabriel Cedrim highlights actions like this that contribute to the increase in international tourists in the destination. “Our air network has been improving, and having charter flights at specific times, such as the Holy Week holiday, is very important for the diversification of tourists who visit the State. It’s another way to promote our tourism and bring more people to discover our destination and our hotel industry,” he said.
