More than half a ton of marijuana was seized in a truck that was passing through the Presidente Dutra Highway (BR – 116), at the Clover das Margaridas, this Thursday. The shipment with the drug would have come from Paraguay and would be delivered to traffickers in Complexo da Maré, in the North Zone of Rio.
According to the Federal Highway Police, two men were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. During the approach, according to the PRF, they were nervous and contradicted each other, which raised suspicions.
The vehicle was identified by an electricity company in Paraná and does not provide services in Rio. In a more detailed search, the police found several bales with hundreds of marijuana tablets hidden in the compartments of the truck. The occurrence was forwarded to the Federal Police, where the case will be investigated.
