Rio has 992 confirmed cases of monkeypox and 112 probable cases

Rio – The State Department of Health (SES) recorded, this Friday (23), 992 confirmed cases of monkeypox (monkeypox). In addition, there are 112 probable cases and 408 under investigation, that is, with inconclusive or uncollected exams. 1,780 cases were discarded. The data are from the Center for Strategic Information and Health Surveillance Response (CIEVS-RJ) and were updated at 3:20 pm.
So far, the state has a total of 3,302 reported cases, one death and five people using experimental treatment.
The Metropolitan Region I, which concentrates the city of Rio and the municipalities of the Baixada Fluminense, concentrates 84.27% of the cases, that is, 836. The Metropolitan Region II, which includes cities such as Niterói, São Gonçalo and Itaguaí, comes soon after. then with 11.29%, 112 cases.
The Baixada Litorânea has nine cases, the Médio Paraíba counts eight, the Serrana counts five and the North and Northwest count three and two, respectively. Men are part of 93.2% of monkeypox cases in the state, 925 are infected, and a total of 67 women, equivalent to 6.8%. The highest incidence of cases is in the age group of 20 to 39 years, with 708 diagnoses.
