The Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier has already sailed from the United States of America to Japan, and will stop in Brazil in the coming weeks. The CVN-73 George Washington is 332 meters long and can carry up to 90 aircraft, including fighters, transport and air warning planes, helicopters and also multiplanes such as the CV-22 Osprey.

This, which is the largest warship currently active in the world, left the port of Norfolk yesterday afternoon and will go to Yokosuka, Japan, replacing the CVN-76 Ronald Reagan.

Before arriving on the other side of the world, passing through the Strait of Magellan on the border between Argentina and Chile, the George Washington will stop in Rio de Janeiro to participate in an exercise with the Brazilian Navy, Southern Seas 2024.

Arrival in the capital of Rio de Janeiro will be in mid-May and on board the aircraft carrier there are several aircraft that will be seen flying off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. AEROIN will closely monitor this operation and you can check everything in real time on our website and social media.
