24-hour customer service began this Wednesday (8). three Sentinel Units for screening and treating patients with dengue symptoms in Ponta Grossa. The units, located next to the bus terminals in Uvaranas (Conrado Mansani), Oficinas (Cyro Garcia de Lima) and Nova Russa (Rômulo Pazinato), will have teams to exclusively respond to cases of the disease in the city without any interruption, seven days after week.
Sentinel Units
Mayor Elizabeth Schmidt visited the Sentinel Units and highlighted the Municipality’s integrated work to serve the population and also seek to prevent the disease in all regions of Ponta Grossa. “The implementation of 24-hour service in Sentinel Units It is just one of the countless measures we take to combat dengue, whether by welcoming patients with symptoms or in the dozens of cleaning efforts carried out by our agents every day. We will spare no effort in this work”, highlights Elizabeth.
What changes?
The service: With this new protocol, less serious cases of dengue fever can be treated at these points, without the need for referral to other establishments.
The exams: In addition to providing 24-hour service to the population in the main neighborhoods of Ponta Grossa, the City Hall’s Central Laboratory, which analyzes dengue tests collected in health units and Emergency Care Units (UPAs), will also operate uninterruptedly.
Night service: “We are constantly monitoring, together with the other departments and bodies involved in the fight against dengue, the numbers involving the disease and the registration of cases. With this expansion, we take an important step towards decentralizing care, especially at night, where there is an increase in the search for health services by patients with symptoms”, explains Priscila Degraf, president of the Municipal Health Foundation.
Other services at the 3 UBS
Even with care focused on dengue symptoms, services such as X-rays, electrocardiogram exams and dental care continue normally in the three units located in Nova Russa, Uvaranas and Oficinas – according to previously made appointments.
To the vaccination rooms also continue to operate from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 9 pm, while the medication withdrawal Open from 9am to 5pm.
Doctor’s appointments
The medical appointments that were scheduled for the next few days, in addition to the screening of patients who do not have dengue symptoms, were directed to the Ezebedeu Linhares (Jardim Amália), Sillas Salen (Vila Claudionora) and Adilson Baggio (Santo Antônio) units.
