-

Following the determination of the Ministry of Health (MS), Juiz de Fora City Hall (PJF) expands this Wednesday, 8th, the audience for the Influenza Vaccination Campaign to people over six months of age.

The application takes place in the municipality’s Basic Health Units (UBS). In 34 UBS’s that had their opening hours extended (check the list below), flu vaccination takes place from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays from 8am to 11am. The Parque Guarani, Barreira do Triunfo, Jardim da Lua and Vila Olavo Costa units will operate from 9am to 4pm without breaks. On Thursdays, these 38 UBS’s will not work from 2pm to 4pm. In the remaining units, the opening hours are from 9am to 10:30am and from 1pm to 4pm, except on Thursdays, when afternoon hours are from 1pm to 2:30pm.

The Department of Health for Women, Pregnant Women, Children and Adolescents (DSMGCA) offers immunizations for children from six months to under 18 years of age, for pregnant women and women who have recently given birth, from 8am to 2pm.

Vaccination against the flu virus enables the prevention and emergence of complications resulting from the disease, deaths and their consequences on health services, in addition to minimizing the burden of the disease, reducing symptoms, which can be confused with those of Covid- 19.

The Influenza vaccine it can be received together with vaccines against Covid-19 and other vaccines without any problems.

The vaccine offered is trivalent, capable of protecting against the three main types of “flu” viruses in circulation: Influenza A (H1N1), Influenza A (H3N2) and Influenza B.
