O body of singer Anderson Leonardofrom Molejo, will be buried on Sunday (28)at the Jardim da Saudade Cemetery, in Sulacap, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. A ceremony will take place from 11am to 3:30pm and will be open to the public. The burial, in turn, is scheduled for 4pm and should be reserved for friends and family.

Anderson Leonardo, better known as Anderson Molejão, died on Friday afternoon (26), aged 51. The singer was admitted to Hospital Unimed, in Barra da Tijuca, on the 24th, after complications from cancer in the inguinal region – which affects the penis and anus. He had been treating the disease since who received the diagnosisin 2022.

Through social media, fans and friends mourned Anderson’s death and offered solidarity to family members. Singer Alcione, for example, highlighted Anderson’s joy and irreverence, while singer Dudu Nobre thanked the artist for the partnership. Flamengo, Anderson’s favorite club, also spoke out.

Born in Méier, a neighborhood in the north of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Leonardo – together with his inseparable cavaquinho – gained fame as the lead singer of the group Molejo. With Andrezinho, Claumirzinho, Lúcio, Robson and Jimmy, the artist formed the pagode band that became the soundtrack of many parties in the early 90s.

Molejo’s first hit was the song “Caçamba”, from the album “Grupo Molejo”, released in 1994. It was with the song that the group performed for the first time on Domingo Legal, on SBT. On the following album, it was the turn of the album “Não Quero Saber de TiTiTi” to win over the public, resulting in the sale of more than 250 thousand copies.
