The Sua Casa Housing Program closes the first four months of 2024 with more than 20 thousand families benefiting from the resource that guarantees the construction, expansion, improvement or adaptation of housing units in Pará. In total, there are 46 municipalities in Pará covered between January and April this year.
Governor Helder Barbalho highlights the breadth of the state housing program. “The Sua Casa Program points out that, in 2024, we will exceed the number of 40 thousand families covered, guaranteeing people access to construction materials and resources to pay for labor, and thus, being able to live in a house with better quality. quality of life”.
Only in April this year did Sua Casa benefit families from the municipalities of Thailand, Barcarena, São Sebastião da Boa Vista, Santo Antônio do Tauá, Moju, Marabá, Acará, Marituba, Benevides and Concórdia do Pará. In March the benefit was allocated to families in 14 municipalities; in February, it reached 12 municipalities; and in January it guaranteed housing improvements for families in nine municipalities.
Commitment to quality of life
For Luis André Guedes, CEO of Companhia de Habitação do Pará (Cohab), the management body of Sua Casa, the advancement of the benefit to municipalities in Pará represents the commitment of the government of Pará to guarantee access to decent housing for all vulnerable families Social.
“The application of the resource has improved the quality of life of families, leading above all to housing and inclusion, as it includes female heads of families, people with disabilities, the elderly, indigenous people so that these families have decent housing”, said the director- president of Cohab.
The Sua Casa program guarantees two benefits at once: assistance with the acquisition of materials to be used in construction, and assistance with hiring labor. The value of the benefit can reach R$21 thousand.
Decent home
In Barcarena, housewife Lenny Ribeiro says she doesn’t have a house, and with the benefit of the program, she will start the work from scratch. “I currently live on rent, but with the check (from Sua Casa) I will realize my big dream of owning my own home so I can welcome my family and be able to say that I have a decent home,” she said.
In Bom Jesus do Tocantins, in the Mãe Maria indigenous territory, 19 families are building masonry houses together, which should be ready at the same time. The concrete blocks are made in the indigenous territory, “and all the remaining construction material was purchased together so that we could have a better price and start the work together”, reports indigenous Kupepramre Valdenilson Topramre.
Enrollment
To participate in the Sua Casa Program, interested parties must meet the following criteria: family income of up to three minimum wages; not have another property; be over 18 years old or emancipated; have a family with at least two members; not having benefited from another housing program at the municipal, state or federal level; and prove that you have owned or calmly and peacefully possessed the property for more than five years.
Families benefiting from other housing programs can receive exceptional assistance in the event of an accident, minimum housing conditions, social vulnerability and relocation.
