According to a study conducted by the Open University of SUS (UNA-SUS) and the Federal University of Piauí, entitled ‘Medicinal Plants and Women’s Health’, approximately 4,000 years ago, ancient Chinese masters made significant discoveries in the field of therapeutic properties of plants .

They identified that, when consumed, they promoted beneficial effects on the human body, such as enhancing vital energy, regulating blood and body fluids, in addition to inducing sensations of heat or cold that could be used in the treatment of various illnesses. .

In the case of women, some herbs and plants demonstrate a positive impact in promoting reproductive health and supporting human reproductive treatments. They have properties that help reduce stress, have healing and anti-inflammatory effects, among other benefits.

With this in mind, gynecologist Dr. Andrea Barrueco, from the Women, Science and Human Reproduction Association (AMCR), lists 6 plants, proven by science, that promote women’s reproductive health. Check out!

1. Chamomile

One of the oldest medicinal herbs, chamomile has calming effect, which reduces anxiety and helps reduce stress. When a woman is pregnant, or trying to get pregnant, it is natural for her to feel insecure and anxious. In these cases, a cup of this tea is of great help.

2. Calendula

Calendula has anti-inflammatory and healing properties and can help treat inflammation of the reproductive organs, helping with conception. Additionally, early studies have suggested that the plant may have an impact on hormonal regulation, which influences menstrual cycles and reproductive health.

3. Barbatimão

Plant originating from the Brazilian cerrado, like calendula, has healing and healing properties. anti-inflammatory. In addition to acting in the healing of the reproductive organs as a whole, it has been a special ally in the specific healing of injuries to the cervix.
