“We have our PNI, the National Immunization Program, which dates back to 1973. It is a model for the whole world. But, unfortunately, Brazilians are getting vaccinated – especially up to 5 years of age, which is the age group of greatest interest in vaccination -, we are vaccinating ourselves less. Vaccines that we took, 100% adherence rate, 100%, is dropping to 40%, 50%, 60%. Our vaccines are good, free, safe and very effective. The dengue vaccine falls into this category”, says Marcos Antonio Cyrillo, director of the Brazilian Society of Infectious Diseases.
