The level of jokes and references in Deadpool & Wolverine It already seems out of the ordinary from the first scenes of the new official trailer released on Monday (22), by Marvel. With little information released about the sequel produced by Ryan Reynolds, the video went viral among Marvel fans!

Each scene seems to reveal dozens of Easter eggs from the feature film that puts Hugh Jackman back in the grumpy mutant’s costumes. What many didn’t count on was seeing a giant corpse that resembles Ant-Man on screen.

Could the MCU be nodding to Wolverine’s arc from the “Old Man Logan” comics? And why is Ant-Man dead? Follow us for a possible explanation!

The answer may lie in the origins of Pym Falls

In the reality of Earth-807128, the villains of the Marvel Universe have banded together and massacred most of the heroes to take control of the world. America was divided into several territories named after the supervillains who controlled them or the hero who was defeated there.

It is in this context that we know the city of Pym Falls in the comics. The place was founded after Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, was killed in his giant form.

In the theatrical version, Pym Falls’ corpse appears to be an evil fortress. Now, it remains to be seen which Ant-Man we are talking about. Are the remains of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) or Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), the most recent character to don the uniform?

The return of X-Men villains

The questions about the paths that Deadpool and Wolverine’s adventure will take don’t stop there! In the following scenes, the creature that comes out of the dead Ant-Man’s mouth appears to be the new villain of the Marvel Cinematic UniverseCassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), while other villains await her outside.

What’s worth another comment for this scene! The third film of Deadpool will bring back the mutants Pyro (Aaron Stanford), Lady Letal or Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu) and Azazel (Jason Flemyng).

Could they be the next enemies to be defeated by the dynamic duo Deadpool and Wolverine? Will we see more X-Men supervillains, like Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, or a variant of the Red Skull, as his car appears next to the dead Ant-Man’s head? And what are Cassandra’s evil plans?

All these questions will only be answered from the day July 25th, film release date Deadpool & Wolverine at the movies. So, keep an eye on the calendar!
