With cancer, Shannen Doherty, from ‘Barred at the Ball’, makes a list of who she doesn’t want at her funeral

Actress Shannen Doherty, 52, who recently revealed the progress of her cancer, which prompted her to donate and sell all her possessions, has been living with the disease for almost a decade. On her social networks, the actress known as Brenda in “Barrados no Baile”, in the 90s, shows her daily life and tries to carry on with life normally, despite all the difficulties.

In one of the episodes of his podcast “Let’s Be Clear”, Doherty talked about the people he doesn’t want at his funeral and reflected on the situation.

“There are a lot of people that I think are going to show up that I don’t want to be there,” he said. Doherty then explains why he doesn’t want certain people to be present at such an intimate moment.

“I don’t want them there because the reasons for them to come are not necessarily the best. Like, they really don’t like me – and they have their reasons, and that’s fine with them. But actually, they don’t like me enough to go to my funeral,” she reflected.

At another point in the podcast, she said: “But they will do it because it is the politically correct thing to do and they don’t want to look bad.” Shannen Doherty hopes her confession will “relieve pressure on people not so close.” “I don’t want people to cry or say in private, ‘Thank God that bitch is dead now,’” she snapped.

The 90s star also said that Chris Cortazo, her best friend, is the executor of her will and asked for a list of people to invite, but the actress did not name names. “This is the shortest list and it’s better. I can’t give you a list of people I don’t want because it’s too long,” she joked.

Cancer diagnosis in 2015

Shannen Doherty, 52, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Two years later, in 2017, she announced that she was cured, however, in February 2020, she revealed that the disease had returned and spread to her spine. In early 2023, the actress reported that cancer had reached her brain, which forced her to undergo surgery and more radiotherapy. Late last year, the cancer spread to her bones.
