April arrived with everything! For those looking for entertainment on the main streaming platforms, the first week of the month reserves the release of films and series eagerly awaited by fans.
Among the premieres are a major Oscar-winning production, the most recent feature film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, a national comedy that brought more than 2 million viewers to cinemas and successful international soap operas.

HERCAI: LOVE AND REVENGE – Season 2 – Episodes 1 to 15: The second season of the Turkish soap opera Hercai: Love and Revenge arrives on Globoplay resuming the story of the couple Miran (Akin Akinözü) and Reyyan (Ebru Şahin), who come from rival families and have contradictory feelings for each other.

THE WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY – Season 1: Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan return to the roles of Maggie and Negan in this spin-off of The Walking Dead. The plot takes place in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan infested by zombies and hostile humans. There the pair of survivors try to find the whereabouts of Maggie’s son, kidnapped by the sadistic “Croat” (Željko Ivanek), leader of a gang that controls the region.

WISH: THE POWER OF WISHES: Produced as part of Disney’s 100th anniversary celebration, this animation follows Asha, an idealistic and intelligent 17-year-old girl who lives in the Kingdom of Roses, a place where dreams really can come true. When making a wish to the heavens, Asha is granted and meets a magical Star that guides her in a battle against darkness.

MY SISTER AND I: National film that brought the largest number of spectators to cinemas (more than 2 million) in the post-pandemic period, My mother and I features Ingrid Guimarães and Tatá Werneck in the role of two sisters who don’t kiss each other. They try to put their enmity aside after following opposite paths in life when Dona Márcia (Arlete Salles), their mother, disappears.

RIPLEY – Season 1: In the 1960s, a man is hired by a wealthy New York family for a simple job: traveling to Italy to try to convince the family heir to return to the United States. However, when Tom Ripley crosses the ocean, he discovers a life of pleasure and abundance that begins a dark spiral of deceit. Andrew Scott, from the series Fleabagplays the main character in the miniseries.

MUSIC: Directed, co-written and starring Rudy Mancuso, this romantic comedy set in New Jersey is based on the author’s life and tells the story of a man passionate about music who can’t get a melody out of his head. His life takes on a new melody when he meets Isabella, played by Camila Mendes, famous for her work on Riverdale. Both actors have Brazilian ancestry, an element that is explored in the film.

THE DEVIL’S WOMAN – 3rd Season: Mexican TV series resulting from the partnership between Globo and TelevisaUnivision, The Devil’s Woman Its premise is the relationship between humble teacher Natalia Vallejo (Carolina Miranda) and the dangerous Cristo Beltrán (José Ron), who leads a criminal life and is obsessed with it. She pretends to respond to the evildoer’s interest, but throughout the plot she truly falls in love in a plot full of twists, betrayals and the search for redemption.

THE BIG INTERVIEW: Gillian Anderson plays British journalist Emily Maitlis in this drama based on true events about the behind-the-scenes of the infamous interview that marked the public downfall of Prince Andrew, played by Rufus Sewell. In front of the cameras, the member of the royal family was confronted about accusations of abuse against a minor that were against him and about his friendship with former tycoon and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

PARASYTE: THE GRAY: Adaptation for the small screen of the manga created by Hitoshi Iwaaki, the Korean series Parasyte: The Gray combines horror and science fiction. In the plot, an extraterrestrial parasitic species arrives on Earth and takes over the bodies of its hosts, leaving a trail of violence and destruction.

OPPENHEIMER: Big winner of the 2024 Oscar, Oppenheimer won the Academy awards for best film direction (Christopher Nolan), actor (Cillian Murphy) and supporting actor (Robert Downey Jr). The epic historical drama tells the story of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, leader of the Manhattan Project and father of the atomic bomb.
