Attorney General of Justice of Amazonas presents Annual Activity Report to the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas

The formality meets the determination set out in Complementary Law No. 011/1993 and highlights the transparency of this management in the administration of the ministerial body; in a subsequent ceremony, the PGJ was also honored by the Legislative House

In a special session held last Wednesday (27/03), at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (ALEAM), the Attorney General of Amazonas, Alberto Rodrigues do Nascimento Júnior, presented the Annual Activity Report for the year 2023 The ceremony took place in the Ruy Araújo plenary and was also broadcast live on YouTube.

When opening the session, the president of ALEAM, Roberto Cidade, gave the floor to the PGJ, who highlighted the main advances achieved by his management in 2023, highlighting the investments made to improve the infrastructure of the institution as a whole, from the headquarters of the Interior of Amazonas, until the optimization of institutional action throughout the State. It also celebrated receiving the Diamond Seal in the National Public Transparency Program, granted by the Association of Members of the Audit Courts of Brazil (Atricon), in recognition of the active transparency of the MPAM Portal.

An institutional video was presented with a summary of the activities and activities carried out throughout 2023 and the main points of the report. “It is due to the commitment and merit of each of the institution’s members and employees that we are, once again, achieving successes such as this Seal of Transparency”, declared the PGJ.

In an Extraordinary Session that took place shortly afterwards, the Ruy Araújo Medal, the highest award granted by the State Legislative Power, was awarded to PGJ Alberto Rodrigues do Nascimento Júnior, which honors individuals who work in the political, legal or cultural areas, carrying out actions that result in benefits for the population of Amazonas.

Deputy Alessandra Campêlo thanked MPAM for his frequent partnership and praised the life and career of the Attorney General, to whom she attributed the quality of a simple, accessible, friendly person who deserved the honor. According to Deputy João Luiz, “Dr. Alberto Nascimento presented here the evolution of the Public Ministry in the interior of the state and in the capital. It is very happy to see the MP moving forward and giving a voice to the caboclo, the riverside dweller and the simpler people. The MP’s door is always open to the population.”

Concluding his participation in the ceremony, the PGJ thanked the honor, dedicating it to his family and declared that “The credibility of democratic institutions is essential for society to function peacefully. A strong OAB, Public Defender’s Office and Public Prosecutor’s Office are fundamental to promoting harmony and mutual respect. The basis of social organization lies in justice, the validity of Law and the proper functioning of institutions, together with respect and solidarity between people.“

In addition to the president of ALEAM, state deputy Roberto Cidade, and PGJ Alberto Rodrigues do Nascimento Júnior, the table of honor for the ceremonies was also composed of Tadeu de Souza Silva, Vice-Governor of Amazonas; Desdor. João de Jesus Abdala Simões, representing TJAM; Rafael Lins Bertazzo Attorney General of Manaus; Yara Amazônia Lins Rodrigues dos Santos, President of TCE-AM; Manuela Cantanhede Veiga Antunes, Deputy General Coordinator of DPE-AM; Denise Aufiero, Acting President of OAB/AM; Marco Aurélio de Lima Choy, Federal Counselor of the OAB; Muni Lourenço Silva Júnior, President of FAEA and the president of AAMP, Prosecutor Alessandro Samartin.
