Then, Caio called, who is Raimundos’ drummer and my dentist. I thought Digão asked him to call. I didn’t answer. Then, Patrick, our photographer from Brasília, called. Digão wasn’t going to call Patrick so he could call me. Then I answered and he told me that Canisso passed away. I arrived at the airport and changed the ticket. I had already experienced my mother’s death. I went to São Paulo, got there and spoke to his wife.

I had to resolve a lot of things. I released the body. I had a bleed in my eye because my pressure went up too much. I was exploding from the inside out. Canisso’s cause of death

Bassist José Henrique Campos, better known as Canisso, passed away on March 13, 2023 after suffering a heart attack. His wake was two days later in Barueri (SP). He passed away at the age of 57. []

For us, José Henrique Campos Pereira, the eternal Canisso, will always be alive in our hearts and in Brazilian music.
