The Central Bank (BC) announced yesterday that there are still R$8.02 billion in undrawn resources in the financial system until the end of March. To date, the Receivable Values System (SVR) has already returned R$6.54 billion, out of a total of R$14.56 billion made available by financial institutions.

SVR statistics are released with a two-month lag. By the end of March, 19,842,315 account holders had redeemed amounts, which represents just 31.1% of the total of 63,800,451 account holders included in the list since the start of the program, in February 2022.

Of the total number of beneficiaries who have already made the redemption, 18,720,053 are individuals and 1,122,262 are legal entities. On the other hand, 40,746,526 individuals and 3,211,610 legal entities have not yet made the redemption.

Amounts Receivable

The majority of account holders who have not yet redeemed their amounts are entitled to small amounts. Around 63.54% of beneficiaries have amounts receivable of up to R$10, while 24.95% have amounts between R$10.01 and R$100, 9.75% between R$100.01 and R$1 thousand, and only 1.76% are entitled to amounts above R$1 thousand.

After almost a year off the air, the SVR reopened in March 2023, with new sources of funding, a new scheduling system and the possibility of recovering values from deceased people. In March this year, R$280 million were redeemed, an increase compared to the previous month, when R$218 million were redeemed.

In this new phase, the SVR presents significant improvements, such as the possibility of printing screens and request protocols for sharing on WhatsApp, inclusion of all types of values provided for in the SVR standard and a virtual waiting room that allows everyone to consult users on the same day, without the need for a timeline by year of birth or company foundation.

Query

Furthermore, it is now possible to consult values of deceased people, with access for heirs, executors, executors or legal representatives, ensuring more transparency for joint accounts. Also included are new sources of forgotten resources that were not in last year’s batches.

The BC warns of scams by embezzlers who pretend to be intermediaries to rescue forgotten values. The organization reinforces that all SVR services are free and that it does not send links or contact you to discuss amounts to be received or confirm personal data. Only the financial institution listed on the SVR can contact the citizen, and no citizen should provide passwords or personal information to third parties.
