O Believe Program was launched by the federal government on April 22nd. The actions are aimed at generating employment, promoting economic development, reducing social inequality and combating poverty. To this end, loans will be offered at reduced rates for MEIs and small businesses.

Loan for MEIs and small businesses

  • One of the program’s actions is called Believe in Business, through it it will be possible to have access to microcredit.
  • The initial contribution to this axis will be R$1 billion, with R$500 million released this year.
  • From this investment, it will be possible to offer up to R$12 billion in credit aimed at entrepreneurs who generally have difficulties accessing credit.
  • Each entrepreneur will have access to loans with amounts up to R$80 thousand, which represents 30% of MEI’s maximum annual revenue.
  • Another action is the allocation of 50% of the investment for entrepreneurs.
  • All people who print through the program will have reduced rates, calculated based on the Selic Rate + 5% per year.

Debt renegotiation

  • Another action also aimed at Individual Microentrepreneurs and small businesses is debt renegotiation, aimed at micro and small companies with annual revenue of up to R$4.8 million.
  • The action should enable entrepreneurs who took out a loan from Pronampe to regularize their situations.
