Nissan prototypes at the Beijing Motor Show anticipate brand news

-

A Nissan reveals a quartet of new prototypes at the Beijing Motor Show (China), which will be open to the public between April 27th and May 4th. All conceptual models must anticipate details of what future new models that will be launched not only in China, but also in other markets, will look like.

SEE TOO:

The first car that Nissan has revealed is the Epoch Concept, which is an electric sedan. Among the highlights is a virtual assistant with AI technology that, according to the manufacturer, can recognize human emotions and respond to them. With the size of the Sentra, the new conceptual model has a glass roof, intriguingly styled wheels and recessed door handles to improve its aerodynamics.

Next, we come to the all-electric Epic Concept SUV. Nissan says it was designed for “adventurous city couples who explore on the weekends.” It houses a large set of sensors and steering technology that, according to the Japanese brand, makes it autonomous for both city and highway driving. Its interior resembles a living room, with white seats and lots of screens.

Making the transition from all-electric concepts to plug-in hybrids, another prototype that Nissan is showing in Beijing (China) is the Era Concept. The brand says it is aimed at the young entrepreneur who treats his car like a second home. It features an E-4ORCE all-wheel drive system along with active air suspension to make longer journeys more comfortable.

The last concept of the day is a sedan called the Evo Concept, and it’s also a plug-in hybrid. Unlike the SUVs that shared much of its design, this sedan doesn’t look like a copy of the Epoch Concept. Nissan says it’s an ideal car for a family weekend getaway, although it doesn’t feel particularly spacious to hold lots of people and their luggage.

One similarity between it and Epoch is its AI virtual assistant. The Evo’s interior is simplistic, with just a pair of screens and few buttons, but it feels light and airy in its design. Its exterior is also the sportiest of all here. It has a sleek sporty design and angular front with lots of sharp creases.
