The State Workers’ Association (ATE) confirmed that this Wednesday (3) a day of protest will be held with “massive and simultaneous entries” in public bodies where around 11 thousand dismissals have been recorded in recent days.

“In the morning, workers, by continuing with massive and simultaneous entries, will be exercising our rights to strike, demonstrate and meet. If there is violence and repression, the only person responsible will be Casa Rosada”, warned on Tuesday the general secretary of the national ATE, Rodolfo Aguiar, on his account on X (formerly Twitter).

According to the union leader, during the weekend the union recorded more than 11 thousand layoffs in different offices within the national public administration.

The union defined three time slots for mass entries into ministries, organizations and state facilities – between 7, 8 and 9 am – depending on the usual functioning of each delegation.

Both permanent state workers, as well as contractors who have not yet been fired and those who have already been notified of their dismissal, were called to join.

“The president decided to break the Argentine legal system in its central part and both he and his employees could end up in prison,” said the head of ATE.

For Aguiar, “causing mass layoffs in the state is suppressing people’s fundamental rights and this is a conduct typified in our Penal Code”.

“The violation of the guarantee of stability provided for in article 14 of the National Constitution tens of thousands of times causes the suppression of other fundamental rights that the entire society has. And our Penal Code in its article 226 gives sentences of between 5 and 15 years to anyone who impedes the free exercise of constitutional powers,” he added.

For ATE, in addition, “the Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights is being violated, which obliges states to protect work and guarantee employment”.

Meanwhile, also this Wednesday, but at 4pm, a federal ATE plenary was convened with the participation of more than a thousand delegates, at the union’s Eva Perón Amphitheater, located at its headquarters at Avenida Belgrano 2527.

In this context, plans are being made to intensify the fight plan and a new strike with mobilization cannot be ruled out this week.

“We have to show that it is the government that acts outside the Constitution and the law”, concluded Aguiar.
